Braiding machine

A & J Booth of 98 Carruthers Street, Ancoats, Manchester

1852 Patent No. 235 issued on 5th Oct 1852, for improvements to plaiting or braiding machines, which machines are applicable to manufacturing webs for making door and other mats [1]

1854 Booth's plaiting and braiding machine featured in 'The Practical Mechanic’s Journal' (see illustration) [2]

1857 Partnership between Adam and John Booth, Braid Machine makers of 98 Carruthers Street Ancoats, dissolved by mutual consent, 9th Jan 1857 [3]
