1900 Mr. A. Rollason presented at a meeting of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers that a Mond plant of 1000 indicated hp capacity had been erected at the works of the Premier Gas Engine Co at Sandiacre near Nottingham, and had been in daily use making gas for the engines driving the works, testing engines, and in the foundry heating the core stoves and drying moulds.[1]
