A. E. Armstrong (c1876-1956) of Senior Economisers Limited

1956 Obituary[1]

"Mr A. E. Armstrong of Senior Economisers Limited died suddenly on the 30th March, 1956, in his 80th year. He had been Director of that Company since its foundation. Its vigorous growth and development owed much to his interest, hard work and ability. International Combustion has a close working connection with Senior Economisers and in fact the Derby Works manufacture the economisers for them. So it would be surprising, indeed, if Mr Armstrong had not made a great many friends both in the London Office and Derby Works. Among others he was a friend of the late Mr F. G. Penny and he felt keenly the loss of this old and tried colleague.

Mr Armstrong was a most astute and just man and the whole of the Senior Organisation knows that his counsel and judgment will be sadly missed. This is, in large measure, true also of International Combustion, where everyone who had contact with him desire that their colleagues at Senior Economisers should know of their sympathy and that the sense of personal loss is felt here likewise."
