After training with Joseph Lucas Ltd., at London Service Depot, joined Lodge Plugs Ltd., Rugby in 1923. Engaged in Technical Sales and Designs Department and afterwards as Competition Manager. Joined E. R. Plugs Ltd. (a subsidiary of the Ever Ready Co. Ltd.) and became a Director. Joined the above Company which is a member of the Wipac Group, in 1941. Appointed to present position, 1948. PAGE, Ernest, M.I.MECH.E. With Ford Motor Co. Ltd., Dagenham. Born Manchester, 3rd October, 1902. Educated at Gorse Hill School, Stretford; Royal Technical College, Salford. Prestwich Ltd. and became their Chief Designer at Tottenham. Joined Ariel Works Ltd., as Chief Designer, Birmingham leaving them to become Motor Cycle designer to Triumph Cycle Co., Coventry. PALMER, Dennis Guy. Managing Director, Eagle Engineering Company, Ltd., Eagle Works, Warwick. Born Edgbaston, 14th June, 1910. Son of the founder of the Eagle Engineering Company, the late R. G. Palmer, M.B.E. Educated at Warwick School and studied engineering at Leamington and Acton Technical Colleges. In 1926 became apprenticed to Eagle Engineering Company, was a student also with A.E.C. Southall. First employed by the Leamington & Warwickshire Electrical Company (who, also operated a bus fleet) as shift engineer on maintenance. Later returned to Eagle Engineering as a demonstrator, taking an articulated semi-trailer, in the days when they were novelties, around the country. Became successively, Sales Representative, Sales Director, Assistant Works Manager and Managing Director, 1949. Is also a Director of J. F. Buckingham Ltd. and of the Lord Leycester Hotel, Warwick. PARKINSON, Raymond Milner, m.sc. Chief Development Engineer, K.L.G. Sparking Plugs Ltd., Putney Vale. Born Lancaster, 1st June, 1908. Educated at Friends' School, Lancaster & Stramongate School, Kendal. Graduated in Mechanical Engineering, with 1st Class Hons. at University of Leeds in 1930. Received a two-year grant from D.S.I.R. to conduct original research on I.C. engine Combustion Problems, for which was awarded M.Sc. degree. In 1932 joined the former Sunbeam Motor Car Co. Ltd. as Technical Assistant to the late H. C. M. Stevens. In 1934 joined Rolls Royce Ltd., Experimental Dept. under Lord (then Mr. E. W.) Hives. Joined Alvis Ltd. as Experimental Engineer aero engine development and testing, 1936 leaving in 1938 to join Rotol Ltd., Gloucester, as experimental engineer and during war built up one of the best equipped Research Depts. in the aircraft industry. Chief work consisted of originating and perfecting electrical methods of strain-gauging propellers and aircraft structures, whilst in flight.
