MELVILLE, DUNDAS and WHITSON, PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTORS. REINFORCED CONCRETE SPECIALISTS.

DESCRIPTION of Contracts completed or in course of completion illustrated by the following photographs are given hereunder: -

GEORGE V. BRIDGE OVER RIVER CLYDE. Reinforced Concrete Structure, faced with Granite, supported on concrete cylinders and spanning the River Clyde at Oswald Street, Glasgow. Width of the bridge, 8o ft. between parapets, two side spans 128 ft. 9 in. and one centre span 166 ft. o in.

REFUSE POWER WORKS, GOVAN, GLASGOW (Corporation of the City of Glasgow). All the constructional work in connection with this Contract, which is one of the largest and most up-to-date Refuse Power Works in the world.

BRIDGE OVER RIVER CLYDE AT HAMILTON. New Bridge being constructed between Hamilton and Motherwell, consisting of cylinder foundations, massive lintol beams faced with masonry; the roadway is80 ft. wide, and the three spans are 120 ft. each.

FACTORIES FOR Messrs. COURTAULDS, LTD., WOLVERHAMPTON. Melville, Dundas and Whitson carried out the complete construction in conncetion with the creation of these Units.

The Corporation of Glasgow. Road Bridge 80 ft. wide over River Cart.

The Corporation of Glasgow. Road Bridge 80 ft. wide over River Kelvin.

Lanarkshire and Ayrshire Railway Co. First Reinforced Concrete Railway Bridge constructed in Scotland to car, Railway Traffic.
