The Brooke Tool Manufacturing Company, Ltd., has for nearly a quarter of a century past, specialised exclusively in the design and scientific production of the high-grade Metal-Working "Small Tools" obtainable.

The products of the Company centre largely round the automobile and heavy vehicles industries, and comprise tool equipment, jigs, fixtures and special machine appliances which are the key of modem interchangeable intensive production; Fig. .52. shows a typical example.

Brooke tools enjoy world wide repute and, in addition to the part they play in the British Motor Car Industry, enter largely into the economical production of British locomotive and rolling stock, machine tools, bridges and Structural steelwork, aircraft and aero engines, shipbuilding, etc., etc. In fact, wherever metal has to be fashioned by machining, Brooke tools have a place.

Upwards of 10,000 types and sizes of tools for metal working are listed and "Brook, 1928 Edition" Catalogue will be gladly mailed on request.

On the facing page are illustrated a few characteristic tools.

No. 80 being a special type of "Millbrooke" patent plant milling cutter having inserted high-speed Steel blades - these tools are for machining locomotive side connecting rods of high tensile Steel, and arc used by several of the large British Railways in their constructional shops.

No. 300 shows metal slitting saws, these are manufactured in carbon and high speed steel in an immense variety of sizes and types to meet a wide range of conditions.

No. 907 and 804. Drills and reamers arts highly developed type of tool.

Brooke Drills are the basis of comparison wherever drills are used and have for years been the Standard equipment used by many of the largest and most progressive engineering firms in Great Britain.

No. 1033. Gauges. Gauging equipment of every type is produced in a special department to the highest Standard of accuracy obtainable, and can be supplied, if desired, with Certificates of Accuracy issued by the National Physical Laboratory.

No. 1026. Geared Pumps are manufactured in sizes ranging from 3/8 gas to 1 1/4" gas. Suction and discharge. These were originally designed to meet the needs of machine tool coolant systems - they have however found other useful applications and are in constant demand for many and diverse purposes.

The Brooke Works cover an area of some 20,000 square feet and are equipped with the most modern precision plant obtainable, several hundred highly skilled operatives being employed.

Recently another section has been added, this department being engaged solely in the manufacture of structural components for metal aircraft, contracts for parts being constantly in progress for the best known constructors.

Bearing in mind the rapid Strides at present being made in the air, ample provision for future extension has been made and a large increase in activities in this branch is confidently expected in the near future.

The Brooke Tool Manufacturing Company are on the approved list of all Government Departments, including the Air Ministry, the Crown Agents for the Colonies, leading British and Foreign Railways, etc., etc.
