1912 June 28th. The difficulty of the Mountain Course combined with worries about safety led many manufacturers to boycott the 1912 races. Both singles and twins were subject to a capacity limit of 350cc for the Junior and 500cc for the Senior races.

There were 25 entries for the Junior, which was run in the rain. This suited the new Douglas team, as their chain-driven transmissions did not suffer the same problems as the belt-driven machines. Douglas machines took first and second places. For the Senior race of 1st July some 49 riders started.
