1966 Yarrow (Shipbuilders) Ltd was set up, as Yarrow's yard was expanded. In the 60s the yard continued with merchant orders making three survey ships and then 'Leander' class frigates.

1970s Also acquired Barclay Curle Shipping

1974 Yarrows was purchased by GEC

1977 Under the Aircraft and Shipbuilding Industries Act YSL was nationalised and grouped with other major British shipyards as British Shipbuilders. They continued making Type 22 frigates, 16 of which were made between 1979 and 1994.

c.1985 The yard was privatised; a proposed buy-out by the workers was unsuccessful.

1998 Inclusion in Marconi Electronic Systems as part of Marconi Marine

1999 November 30th. BAE Systems was formed incorporating Marconi Electronic Systems

2003 Part of BAe Systems Marine
