1969 Delfinware Household Products was established[1]

1971 Wire and Plastic Products was incorporated as a public company making shop fittings and plastic cages[2]

1972 Acquired the goodwill of Sparkes and Sparkes[3]

1982 Acquired Histon (Evercool), maker of holloware, which was moved to Burntwood and integrated with existing subsidiary Staffordshire Holloware[4]

1985 Martin Sorrell (formerly finance director of Saatchi and Saatchi) and Preston Rabl purchased a controlling interest in the company.

1986 The holding company became WPP Group; Wire and Plastic Products would be the group's holding company coordinating manufacturing activities[5]

1987 WPP acquired J. Walter Thompson, a major US advertising agency[6]
