1868 Charles Hodgson patented designs of aerial tramways. These patents were later acquired by the company. Both Hodgson and William Thomas Henney Carrington were associated with the company as engineers.

1874 Taken over by William Munton Bullivant who developed it into one of the leading companies engaged in aerial ropeways.

Later became Bullivant's Aerial Ropeways Ltd
