1913 Obituary [1]

WILLIAM WARD-SMITH, born on the 17th March, 1850, died at Bedford on the 28th February, 1913. Having passed through the Thomason Civil Engineering College, Roorkee, he joined the Indian Public Works Service in 1872.

He served nearly 30 years on irrigation and other works in the North-West Provinces and Oudh, becoming Executive Engineer in 1881, and retiring in 1901.

Mr. Ward-Smith was elected a Member of The Institution on the 1st March, 1887.
