1894/6 Company founded.

1897 Moved to premises at Ridding Lane.

1907 William Preston became MD.

1915 Dissolution of the Partnership lately subsisting between William Sanders, late of Glenhurst, Lichfield-road, Walsall, in the county of Stafford, Electrical Engineer, and William Preston and Edwin John Selby, carrying on business as Electrical Engineers, at Ridding-lane, Wednesbury, in the said county of Stafford, under the style or firm of "WILLIAM SANDERS AND CO.," so far as regards the William Sanders (who died on the 16th day of February, 1915) and the said Edwin John Selby, who retired from the firm. William Preston will continue the said business under the present style or firm of " William Sanders and Co."[1].

1949 William Sanders and Co (Wednesbury) Ltd.

1965 Merged with Chilton Electric.[2]

1965 Name changed to Sanders Switchgear a subsidiary of Chilton Electric.

1969 Parent group Chilton Electric acquired by Drake and Gorham, Scull.[3]

1969 Drake and Gorham, Scull combined Chilton Electric with its other subsidiary Ottermill Switchgear.[4]

The Wednesbury works were later closed and production transferred to Ottermill Switchgear.
