William Shillito Hudswell (1832-1881) of Hudswell, Clarke and Co

1832 Born at Driffield

Served his apprenticeship with Kitson and Co

1860 Founded the company of Hudswell and Clarke, with John Clarke, the work's manager from Kitsons.

1866 Mr Rodgers joined the company.

1870 The company name was changed to Hudswell, Clarke and Rodgers.

1861 Living at Springfield Terrace, Leeds (age 28 born Driffield), Locomotive Engineer. With sister Mary Grace (age 24). [1]

1868 Became a member of I Mech E

1871 Manufacturing engineer, employing 81 men, 43 boys, and 6 girls (?) as draughtsmen, lived in Holbeck with Eleanor Hudswell 26 and Catherine Lloyd 72, his Mother-in-law; William Parsey was a visitor[2]

1880 Rodgers left, the company became Hudswell, Clarke and Co.

1881 Died in Leeds[3]
