1861 Living at Bell Green, Coventry (age 35 born Foleshill), Ribbon Weaver. With his wife Comfort (age 32 born Foleshill) and their daughters Anna Maria (age 9 born Foleshill) and son William (age 9 born Foleshill). Also his mother Sarah Birch (age 68 born Foleshill). Plus a servant. [2]

1891 Living at 8 Crescent, Coventry age 65, Living on own means, in home of his son-in-law Basil Riley (age 36) [6]

1901 Living at Middlebro House, 14 St. Nicholas Street, Coventry (age 75 born Foleshill), living on own means. He is in the house of his married daughter Hannah M. and her husband Bazil Riley (age 46 born Ashton-under-Lyme), a Tailor and Hosier. Also Herbert John Riley (age 30 born Coventry), Single and a Cycle Managing Director. Plus two servants. [7]
