Assistant Engineer, Ipswich and Felixstowe Railway, Parkston Wharfs, Banbury and Cheltenham Railway; District Engineer, Midland Great Western Railway, Ireland, 1880-92; Chief Engineer, Midland Great Western Railway, Ireland, 1892-1918, Loughrea and Attymon Railway extension, Ballinrobe and Claremorris extension. Also those of Galway and Clifden and Westport and Achill, both carried out under the Right Hon. Arthur James Balfour's schemes of railway extension in the West of Ireland.
