1898 William Mackean Limited was incorporated to acquire the business of the firms of William Mackean, starch manufacturer and dealer in cereals, Paisley, and the Paisley Sugar Co, the capital being £100,000.[1]

1923 Acquired by Brown and Polson.

1966 The company went into voluntary liquidation.[2]
