1851 Living at The Rivers, Uley Road, Dursley: George Lister (age 54 born Liversedge, Yorkshire), Tanner and Wire Card Maker employing 51 men, 5 women and 6 boys - and a Widower. With his children Mary Lister (age 20 born Dursley); Helen Lister (age 16 born Dursley); William Lister (age 8 born Dursley); Ashton Lister (age 6 born Dursley); Emma Lister (age 4 born Dursley); and Henry Lester (age 2 born Dursley). Four servants on one child. [1]

Lister (age 13 born Dursley).[4]

With his wife Catherine Lister (age 57 born Nova Scotia) and their children Catherine Lister (age 30 born New Zealand) and James Fraser Lister (age 25 born Dursley), Electrical Engineer and Employer.
