William Hood (d.1926)

From Graces Guide

1926 Obituary

"The recent death of Mr William Hood removes one of the last of the pioneers of American trans-continental railway builders. He helped to build the Central Pacific Railway across the Sierra Nevada in 1867 and eventually became the chief engineer of the Pacific system of the Southern Pacific Railway. His outstanding work there of recent years was the construction of the Lucin cut-off and the causeway across Great Salt Lake."
