1946 Died. 'By the death on January 17th of Mr. William Edward Allpress, Sidlow. has lost a respected and well-known resident. He lived at Wolvers many years and took pride in his notable pedigree Jersey Herd which won for him many awards in the show ring. He was the senior partner in the well-known firm of William Press and Sons, contractors to the Gas, Light and Coke Co., the Metropolitan Water Board and to many other gas and water undertakings in London and the Provinces.'[1]
