1874 'The death is announced of William Dunville, the head of the distillery firm of that name, at his residence near London, at the age of sixty. He had for some years been in delicate health. In politics he was a Liberal, and will be long and favourably remembered for the substantial support he gave to the spread of education. A scholarship for the encouragement artistic and scientific education, for the special benefit the working population, was founded by a gift of £12,000.'
