1908 Promoted to Lieutenant

1909 Designed a glider with Lieutenant John Porte, which they tested - see Porte-Pirie

1910 was awaiting stationing in submarines[3]

1911 Lieutenant at Portsmouth[4]

1923 Lieutenant Commander Pirie was awarded war service medals[5]

1960 Died in Hampshire[6]
