1835 The gasworks in Westwey Road were built and owned by Wm. Wharton Burdon M.P.

1866 Burdon sold the gasworks to the Weymouth Gas Consumers Co..

1929 Built a gasholder in Broadwey.

1933 A new gasworks was built at the same site in Weymouth.

1949 Vested in the Southern Gas Board

1958 Production ceased; a supply was obtained from Poole.
