WALTER WILSON was born in 1902 and after receiving his technical education at Rutherford Technical College, Newcastle upon Tyne, served his apprenticeship from 1918 to 1923 with Messrs. C. A. Parsons and Company, Ltd., of Heaton. He remained with that firm as turbine draughtsman until 1927 when he accepted an appointment as a turbine designer with Messrs. W. H. Allen, Sons, and Company, Ltd., of Bedford.
He returned in 1932 to Messrs. Parsons and was engaged in the estimating department for a period of four years, subsequently resuming his employment with Messrs. Allen. He continued in the service of the latter firm until his death, which occurred on 15th February 1942.
Mr. Wilson was elected a Student of the Institution in 1924, and was transferred to Graduateship in 1929, and to Associate Membership in 1930.
