Gave instruction to marine engineers on oil engines and steam power plant during his internment in Ruhleben Camp, Germany, 1914-18.

- Collaborated with Dr. A. L. Mellanby in translating from the German Dr. O. Lasche 's book on "Materials and Design in Turbo-Generator Plant".
