1969 The Williams Sale Partnership was established as a building services consultancy in Surrey.
1987 WSP floated on the London Stock Exchange with 80 staff and £3.2m turnover
1990-95 UK acquisitions added structural and civil engineering capability
1996-99 Acquisitions in the UK and South Africa.
By the end of the decade WSP had 2,000 staff and £100m turnover.
2000 WSP entered the US market through the acquisitions of Cantor Seinuk, a structural engineering firm, and Flack & Kurtz, a mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering business.
2001 WSP acquired Jacobson & Widmark in Sweden and two smaller Finnish consultancies.
2003 WSP made further acquisitions in Finland.
2006 Environment & Energy, an environmental and energy consulting business became part of the company.
2007 Acquired Chas H. Sells, Inc., which became WSP’s transport and infrastructure engineering group in the United States.
2008 WSP had a total headcount of over 10,000 staff
2012 GENIVAR of Canada acquired WSP, creating a world-class global professional services firm, with expertise in Building, Transport & Infrastructure and Industrial, Energy & Environment segments.
2014 GENIVAR and WSP reorganized as WSP Global Inc., and adopted WSP as the corporate brand
2014 WSP acquired Parsons Brinckerhoff
