1894 'Messrs. Walter Visick and Sons, of Veto Works, on the top of the hill overlooking Bissoe, have been forced through pressure of work to either enlarge their premises or get another place suitable for the carrying on of their business as engineers, pattern makers, etc. Some few months since they applied to Mr. Goddard (Mr. Basset's steward), and succeeded in obtaining the old buildings known as Old Basset's Foundry, which is situated north-west of Devoran. The place had been unused as a foundry for about eighteen years, and was nothing more than a place of ruin. The request having been granted, Messrs. W. Visick and Sons proceeded to rebuild the old houses, and to make some additional features which makes the appearance of the whole place very bright and cheerful. The machinery and plant is now in working order...'[1]
