1913 W. T. Aked Limited was registered as a private company, with capital of £10,000, to take over the business of letters on hire of motor cars, motor garage proprietors, motor and electrical engineers, and dealers in electrical plant and fittings and motor cars and accessories, carried on by F. A. Scholes and W. Aked at St. Annes-on-the-Sea and Ormskirk, Lancashire, and Penrith, Cumberland.[1]

2023 The company remains active as W. T. Aked Holdings Limited.[2]
