William Major Douglas Pell (c1875-1938)

c.1875 Born in the Straits Settlements (Singapore)[1], son of Bennett Pell, electrical engineer[2], and his wife Mary[3]

1891 Student of engineering, lodging in Willesden; also at the same address Frederick B. Pell, (presumed brother), also student of engineering[4]

1898 of Eaton Terrace, London SW. Became an associate of the Inst of Electrical Engineers[5]

1900 Started working with Charles Oliver in the business which was to become Oliver Pell Control

1901 Living in Harrow with his mother Mary

1904 Registered in Burrage Road, Plumstead, Woolwich with Charles Oliver, both owning a factory in Cambridge Place[6]

1911 Electrical engineer, employer, visiting Barrow upon Soar.

1913 Married Evelyn Georgie Sandwith in Horsell

1930 Living in Horsell, Woking

1938 of Eltham, Kent, when he died[7]; death registered in Woolwich[8]
