Walter Launcelot Creyke (1881-1940) of the Oxford Automobile and Cycle Agency

1881 Born in London the son of Walter Pennington Creyke

1893 Inherited £12,000 on the death of his uncle Alfred Richard Creyke.[1]

1900 Inherited from his grandfather Sir John Bennett Lawes shares in John Bennett Lawes and Co.[2]

1903 Of 89 At. Aldate's Street, Oxford.[3]

1903-04 Partner in the Oxford Automobile and Cycle Agency

1904 'CREYKE W. Launcelot, Seamore Place, Mayfair, London, S.W. Though only a young man fresh from Christ Church, Oxford, Mr. W. Launcelot Creyke has had considerable experience in motoring. He commenced with a 3.5 horse Renault, and soon afterwards purchased an 8-horse Progress, two 7-horse Panhards and a 12-horse Panhard. His final purchase was the famous "Easter Egg" of M. Serpollet, which made a record of 75 miles an hour on the kilometre course at Nice in April, 1902, by covering the distance in 29.8 sec. Mr. Creyke, who was born in London, is a director of the Farman Automobile Co., and also of the Speedwell Co, and is the proprietor of the motor agency at 16, George Street, Oxford.' [4]

1911 Living at Manton Grange, Manton, Marlborough, Wiltshire: Lancelot Creyke (age 30 born London), Gentleman. In the house of his brother-in-law Charles Maurice, a Farmer and his family.[5]

1940 Died in an accident possibly in the London blitz
