1937 Formed by 'Billy' Paul (William Henry Paul) when he left Wallis and Co as a sheet metal fabricator. engaged in subcontract work for both aerospace (since 1940) and nuclear customers (since 1957), along with the manufacture of products for the domestic kitchen and heating markets during the 1950s and 60s.'[1]
1939 Became a private limited company.
1940 Began subcontract work for Rolls-Royce
1946 Kitchen furniture manufacturing commenced
1954 Paul, W. H., Ltd. Specialists in stainless steel fabrications and aircraft pressings. Head Office: Breaston, Derby.[2]
1954 Introduced the “Paul Warma” paraffin heater for homes; at its peak the company was manufacturing 1,000 heaters per day
1959 Company made public.
1961 Manufacturers of kitchen sink and cabinet units; electric washing machines; domestic paraffin heaters; central heating boilers; commercial and industrial containers; brewery, hotel and canteen equipment; precision parts for Rolls-Royce jet engines; and all types of stainless steel fabrications. 600 employees.
