William Berkeley "Bummer" Scott (1904-1981)

1904 November 19th. Born the son of James Henry Scott, a Judge.

1925 Married at Earl's Court to Eileen May Fountain (see Jill Scott)

1931 Engaged to Ruth McKechney. 'Montrose has a big interest in the engagement of Mr William Berkeley Scott, the 27 year old Cambridge Rugger Blue, and holder of 16 world's motor racing international class records, to Miss Ruth 11•Kechney, the 24 year old daughter of Mr and Mrs M'Kechney. Mr Scott, who is the son of the late Mr Scott, a Judge at Cairo, and Mrs Scott, of Norton Canon, Herefordshire, is a cousin of Miss Scott, The Mall, Montrose. He has been motor racing for seven years, and his records include the 24 hours for cars of 600 c.c. He was vice-captain of . the Cambridge Rugger team in 1923-4, and is holder of the North of England Squash Handicap Championship. '[1]
