1891 The company was registered on 1 January, under the title of Vornberger, Hirsch and Co, to acquire the businesses of manufacturers of sausage casings, gut strings etc. [1]

1897 The name was changed as above.

1914 Skin Dressers, Clock, Racquet, and Musical Instrument String Makers, 5, Cow Cross Street, London, E.C. Established in 1882 in London by Frank Vornberger and Charles Vornberger; started in Glasgow much earlier. Incorporated as a Limited Company in 1891. Directors: Charles Vornberger (Chairman and Managing Director), Charles Vornberger, jun., and John McBride (Managing Directors), H. F. Hebert (Secretary). Staff: About 600. Branches: About twenty-five throughout England, Scotland, and Ireland. Specialities: Sausage Casings, Tennis Strings, Gut Sash-lines, Musical Instrument Strings. Are the patentees of a Gut-cleaning Machine.
