c.1983 After being in deep trouble, Ward and Goldstone, the wiring and electrical accessories company, changed its management and its name to Volex Group, closed the cables division and other changes, and soon returned to profit[1]

Later Volex electrical accessories became a part of Electrium.

1999 Volex acquired the power cord business of Belden

Since 2006 Electrium is a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens Holding plc.
