VIVIAN AUBREY PRINCE was born at Loughborough in 1899 and served his apprenticeship from 1915 to 1922 with Messrs. Herbert Morris of Loughborough.

He then joined Messrs. Royce of Manchester for about twelve months as a draughtsman and was afterwards employed in the same capacity for a further eighteen months with Messrs. R. A. Evans of Leicester.

At the request of Messrs. Morris he returned as chief draughtsman to that firm and remained with them until his death, which occurred on 8th January 1933.

Mr. Prince was also keenly interested in electric welding and was the author of several technical articles on this subject.

He was elected a Student of the Institution in 1924 and was transferred to Graduateship in 1926 and to Associate Membership in 1930.
