1908 Founded by John Noel Nichols as a wholesale druggist and herbalist business in Granby Row, Central Manchester. One of his first products was a herbal tonic which he named Vimtonic later shortened to Vimto.[1]

1910 The company moved to larger premises in Chapel Street, Salford.[1]

1912 Vimto registered as a trademark.[1]

1927 Company moves to new premises at 67 Ayres Road, Old Trafford, Manchester.[1]

1929 Incorporated as a Limited Company.[1]

1971 Company relocates to Wythenshawe.[1]

1980 Acquired Solent Canners.[1]

1999 All bottling and canning operations consolidated into a new state of the art factory at Haydock.[1]

2000 Corporate name changed to Nichols plc.[1]
