1965 Vickers formed a new Medical Division, based on Oxygenaire of Basingstoke with input from the Vickers Research units[1]

1979 Acquired Medelec. Increase staff at Basingstoke from 350 to 650.[2]

1983 Healthcare was not as large as other parts of the group but earned good profits

1997 Vickers disposed of some divisions that would need continuing investment, one of which was Medical.
