Vero Machine Tool Co

From Graces Guide

of Southampton

1955 High Precision Engineering Ltd was established by Geoffrey Verdon-Roe, son of Sir Alliott Verdon-Roe[1] [2] to acquire the business of Weir Precision Engineering Ltd.

1956 To avoid confusion with the name of another company, Verdon Roe changed the company's name to Vero Precision Engineering[3]

1969 Vero Machine Tool Co was acquired by Tube Investments, as a complementary operation to its other machine tool businesses[4]. Other Vero businesses, namely Vero Precision Engineering, Vero N. C. Developments and Vero Electronics, were not affected by the deal.

1972 Churchill-Vero received support for a project from government programme for the machine tool industry [5]
