2002 The Unichema Chemicals Business was sold to a fellow subsidiary of ICI, Unichema Chemie B.V.; Unichema Chemicals Ltd entered into a manufacturing agreement to supply Unichema Chemie B.V.

2003 Part of ICI's Performance Specialities Division, based in the Netherlands, specialist in skincare products[1]

2003 Developed Emkarate RL range of lubricant for refrigeration compressors; received an award for sustainable development[2]

2006 ICI decided to sell the company as it was concentrated on fatty acid products, different from the rest of the speciality chemicals, and would need more investment to allow it to grow[3]

2006 Acquired by Croda, which had a similar background in fatty acids.[4]

2007 Name changed to Uniqema UK Ltd
