The Tylorstown pits were sunk on the southern dip of the Ferndale seams by the Tylor Brothers

1893 The property was transferred to the David Davis and Sons. Employed over 1,700 men producing 1,800 tons of high grade steam coal per day.

After this the workings of the Tylorstown and Ferndale collieries were made physically and geographically continuous.

1896 Major explosion occurred in the Tylorstown collieries and 57 killed,

1935 Coal production ceased
