1890 Registered to make railway and tramway wagons, cars and carriages

1891 The Tubular Frame Wagon Co, involving Colonel North, acquired the Vulcan Steel and Forge Works at Barrow to make a new type of bogie railway rolling stock on American lines[1]

1891 Completed the first wagon, for carriage of coal on the Great Northern Railway; it rested on 2 bogies and carried 30 tons[2]
