Town and County of Poole Gas and Coke Co

1833 The Town & County of Poole Gas & Coke Co. was formed.

The Quay Gasworks were built on the waterfront but land reclamation later left the site inland.

1902 The Gas company was purchased by Bournemouth Gas and Water Co.

1905 The Quay Gasworks was rebuilt, much expanded and the old gasworks removed.

1925 Pitwines Gasworks were built in North Street, Poole North

1965 Gas production ceased.
