1895 Set up his own business which became Midland Manufacturing Co

1896 of Totley Brook, near Sheffield.

1896-9 Entered the firm of Allcard, Slack and Co, Sheffield

1899 Allcard, Slack and Co was dissolved.

1899 Managing Director of Midland Manufacturing Co

1901 Tom Jefferson Fryer 25, mechanical engineer, employer, was with his parents Christopher Wray Fryer 55, manager of steel works, Elizabeth Fryer 55, in Chapel-en-le-Frith[1]
