1880 Description of 'a novel and very ingenious machine for dovetail jointing, invented by Mr. W. Tighe Hamilton, of Rathmines, Dublin, and recently exhibited at the Building Exhibition, Agricultural Hall. ... The machines have been thoroughly tested by Messrs. Howard and Sons, London, in the production of their parquet flooring, by Messrs. Cubitt and Sons, London, and in about a dozen other large establishments, including the Government dock yards, for whom we hear two additional machines are now being constructed for Portsmouth. The sole agents for these machines are Messrs. Powis Bale and Co., woodworking engineers, 20, Budge-row, London, E.C.' [1]
