Thomson and Varley

1865 C. F. Varley formed a patent partnership with physicist William Thomson (later Lord Kelvin) and the electrical engineer Fleeming Jenkin (1833–1885) which generated large royalties from the cable companies.

1866 Details of the transmitting apparatus for the Atlantic cable which were ascribed to Messrs Thomson and Varley[1].
