Thompson L'Hospied and Co

Charles Herbert Thompson was trained as a chemist and developed many commercial interests in England and France.

1895 Thompson invented Verre sur Verre enamelled glass.

1901 Thompson owned the company which he ran on his own account

1904 Charles Thompson communicated a patent from Charles L'Hospied of Golfe Juan, Vallauris, France, on "Improvements relating to Gas Furnaces."

1939 EGM decided to voluntarily wind up the company[1].

1939-43 Papers in the National Archives indicate that Thompson L'Hospied and Co. Ltd purchased land adjoining Incandescent Heat Co at Amblecote, Stourbridge, West Midlands[2]

1950 Heat Resisting Alloy Castings for Furnace Requirements, including Burner Accessories, Link Conveyors, Chains, Work Trays, Carburizing Boxes, Patent “ Nicrotectile ” Hearths, Perrit Bars and Frames, Centrifugally Cast Tubes and Rollers.

1961 Incandescent Heat Co was acquired by Wellman, Smith, Owen Engineering Corporation

1965 Thompson L'Hospied and Co was renamed Wellman Alloys
