Thomas Rushforth Marriott of Humber and Marriott and Humber, Marriott and Cooper
1851 Born the son of Joseph Marriott, a Miller and his wife Anne Sheperd
In 1875 he was captain of the Nottingham Tricycle Club and joined Thomas Humber to build bicycles and later to form Humber, Marriott and Cooper
1881 Living at 96 London Road, Nottingham: Thomas R. Marriott (age 30 born Fiskerton, Notts), a Bicycle Maker employing 105 men. With his wife Sarah J. Marriott (age 27 born Norton Disney, Notts) and their daughter Ethel V. Marriott (age 1 born Nottingham).[1]
c1885 Rode from Land's End to John O' Groats in 6 days and 16.5 hours on a tricycle [2]

1911 Living at Halmergate House, Yarmouth Road, North Walsham: Thomas Rushforth Marriott (age 60 born Fiskerton, Notts), a Retired Motor and Cycle Manufacturer. With his wife (married 33 years with three children) Sarah Jane Marriott (age 56 born Norton Disney, Lincs.) and their children Lilian Jane (age 32 born Nottingham) and Madeline May (age 28 born Nottingham). Two servants. [4]
1926 April 30th. Thomas Rushforth Marriott died aged 75.
