19th century millwright and builder of atmospheric engines.

In 1773 Hunt designed a horse-driven pumping engine for Penrhyn Du mine. In 1782 he supplied two rotative steam engines to Richard Arkwright's Mill, Manchester. He also supplied engines to businesses in London, Birmingham, Southampton, Mitcham and Bristol [1]
