THOMAS CROMPTON died on July 6, 1910, at the age of eighty-one.
After filling the position of junior clerk in the goods office of the then newly opened Liverpool and Manchester Railway, he entered the office of Mr. Billing, a lock and hinge manufacturer of North Ashton, of which business he eventually became the sole proprietor.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1904.
