THOMAS BRAMMALL COOPER was born in Manchester on the 21st January, 1870, and died in Bristol on the 8th November, 1947.
He was educated at the Leys School, Cambridge, and Victoria University, Manchester, graduating as Bachelor of Science.
In 1890 he was appointed Assistant Resident Engineer on the Manchester Ship Canal, and from 1897 to 1910 he acted as Contractors’ Engineer to Messrs. Edmund Nuttall & Company, Ltd., on many rail, dock, and sewerage undertakings.
In 1916 he entered into partnership with the late Mr. S. Robertson, engaged on railway contracts, but in 1919 he rejoined Messrs. Nuttall, for whom he carried out the large extensions to the Partington Iron and Steel Company’s war munitions plant.
From 1919 until his retirement in 1942 he was the technical representative in Birmingham and the South West of England for the British Reinforced-Concrete Engineering Co. Ltd.
In 1944 he was appointed an assessor for the War Damage Commission in the Bristol Region, and held that position until his death....[more]
