1916 Obituary [1]

THOMAS BOWER, born at Lowmoor, near Bradford, on the 7th November, 1854, died at Llandrindod Wells on the 10th September, 1915.

After serving for several years as Town Surveyor and Gas Manager to the Lytham Local Board, he was appointed in 1884 Engineer to the West Hartlepool Gas and Water Company, subsequently becoming also general manager. He held this appointment for 30 years, carrying out many extensions and also advising other authorities. On his retirement in 1914, he was made Consulting Engineer to the Company.

He was elected an Associate Member on the 3rd December, 1889, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 19th December, 1900.
